1. Evidence of me taking part: (pictures etc) U1.1.2
Image 1.1
This image is of a few sketches we did in the first art lesson,we used physical objects as inspiration when drawing; bones, flowers etc.
Image 1.2
This image shows the process of mono printing, using some equipment such as a roller and black oil/ink
Image 1.3
showing a photo of a crab leg which we then attempted to mono print using the equipment/method found in section 2d
2. Write up of my experience of the following
2a Discuss any research that you carried out in the sessions: U2.1.1
List of primary and secondary sources U2.2.1
Primary
- For my primary research (in the first lesson) we drew 8 sketches in total as the lesson progressed as we drew each one I felt like I improved my drawing skills, as well as improving my knowledge of art and design.
Secondary
- In both lessons we got to look at previous students work to compare ours to theirs, this was one of our only forms of secondary source.
2b Discuss any processes and methods you used (photography wet process, screen printing, photoshop layering etc): U1.1.1
Understanding of these processes:
In our sessions we have used a few methods:
- Movie Editing software adobe premiere ( we used this to edit our one minute movies which we recorded in groups)
- Photoshop CS6 (used to edit some images we put in our movie)
- Mono Printing (used in art lesson 2 (as apart of the printing process) to create special ink work)
- Screen Capture ( to capture our screen when adding screenshots to things)
- Blog Spot
2d, Disuss the tools that you have used (Paint, Material, Software, etc) U2 3.1
Tools used in the Art and Design Lesson(s)
- A1 Paper
- Pencils
- Biros
- Pens (Felt tips)
Tools used in the Art and Design Printing lesson
- Black Printing oil/ink
- Ink rollers
-Thin paper
-Ink removing solution
-Ink scrapers (to remove ink)
-Paper towels
- Plastic Gloves
Effectiveness of the tools
In our first lesson (in art) the equipment we used was fairly basic as the task set was not very technical, because the equipment was so basic it was effective, we managed to compete the task set by using the equipment above.
In our second art lesson we had to focus on printing methods; which only one or two members of the class had done before.
After having our teacher give us a demonstration of how to use the equipment we started our first attempt of mono-printing. The tools we used were effective as we all managed to complete the print in time.
How could we improve our use of the tools
I feel like my use of tools (in the second lesson) was not as effective as it could have been, this is mainly due to this being my first attempt at the task.
